Celebrating 50 Years


1958


On May 1, KNME-TV signs on with a broadcast of UNM professor Edith Buchanan's freshman English class. The educational television station operates from a converted sorority house that later becomes the home of UNM's Speech and Communications Department.







1959


UNM head football coach Mary Levy appears on LOBO LAIR with UNM sports information director George McFadden.


UNM theatre arts professor Gene Yell directs the live presentation "Puss in Boots," featuring UNM theatre students.
